Adam Bornstein is Chief Operating Officer at The Global Industry Hub. He brings 30 years of experience spanning international finance, development, and non-profit sectors. He previously led Financial Analysis & Innovation at the Green Climate Fund, where he oversaw investment evaluation, alternative funding mechanisms, and trend analysis.
Adam also advised Innovation Norway’s Humanitarian Innovation Program and led the Innovative Finance & Systems Change team at the Danish Red Cross. There, he spearheaded the launch of a blockchain-based reinsurance company, issued the first humanitarian catastrophe bond, and advanced initiatives on community currencies and resilience finance. His private-sector career included senior investment roles at CDIB Capital, a US $1B private equity fund in Hong Kong, and founder of an early-stage venture fund in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
In development finance, Adam served as IFC Resident Representative in Mongolia and as Senior Advisor at USAID. At the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, he chaired the staff pension fund and led its innovative finance team.
Adam holds an MBA from Boston University, is pursuing accreditation as a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy. He has served on several non-profit and corporate boards.
