Aaron Goater

Aaron Goater is Senior Program Manager for Steel at the Global Industry hub. Before joining the Global Industry Hub he spent a decade leading work on industrial decarbonisation at the UK’s statutory climate adviser, the Climate Change Committee (CCC) and the energy-specialist consultancy, Baringa. At Baringa he worked with Government, industrials, trade associations and NGOs advising them on policy, strategy and economics. At the UK CCC’s he led a substantial increase in UK industrial decarbonisation ambition, which underpinned the world’s first legislated Net Zero target and ambitious emissions targets for 2030 and 2035. Aaron also previously worked at the UK Parliament, providing impartial energy advice to UK parliamentarians, and holds a PhD in Carbon Capture and Storage.
